The invention relates to a method for heating, keeping warm and reheating thermally insulated pipelines for fluid transport, in particular of viscous crude oils, to improve transportability due to reduced viscosity, and to prevent the solidification of the crude oil when the temperature falls short of the pour point temperature. In order to realise particularly long heating sections - with possible distances between the energy supply stations of more than 100 km - each of the thermally insulated pipeline sections to be heated is preferably equipped with a 3-phase alternating current heating system having a star point at the far end of the line. Each of the isolated heat conductors is laid in heating pipes consisting of metal, which pipes are connected to the transport line to be heated by means of a welded or soldered connection in order to achieve excellent heat transfer, and specific measures are taken to minimise potential water entry in the region of the connection of two heating pipe sections. |
