PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve sound masking in which realization of masking effects is harmonized with decrease in a feeling of discomfort.SOLUTION: A target sound acquisition section 11 and a target sound analysis section 12 acquire target sound feature data indicating features of target sound to be masked. On the basis of the target sound feature data, a masker sound feature data search section 16 calculates a total index indicating a satisfaction level, which corresponds to masking effects on the target sound applied by masker sound and to a feeling of discomfort caused by the masking, in order to generate a processing parameter for generating masker sound such that the satisfaction level indicated by the total index is maximized. A masker sound processing output section 17 processes masker sound data by using the processing parameter generated by the masker sound feature data search section 16 and outputs it as the masker sound via a D/A conversion section 30 and a speaker 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
