PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable magnification optical system that includes excellent optical performance, an optical device and a variable magnification optical system manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A variable magnification optical system includes, in order from an object side,: a first lens group G1 that has negative refractive power; a second lens group G2 that has positive refractive power; a third lens group G3 that has the negative refractive power; and a fourth lens group G4 that has the positive refractive power. The second lens group G2 includes a negative lens, and upon varying a magnification between a wide-angle end state and a telephoto end state, an air space among the lens groups G1 to G4 varies, and upon focusing, the negative lens in the second lens group G2 moves as a focus lens group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
