PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant composition which exhibits a good deodorant effect to a malodor arising from garbage and a malodor coming from denatured oil stains. SOLUTION: The deodorant composition contains (a) an alkanolamine compound, (b) a polycarboxylic acid compound having two to five carboxyl groups in a molecule, and water, in which [the molar concentration of an amino group in the composition calculated from the component (a)/the molar concentration of a carboxyl groups in the composition calculated from the component (b)] is 9 to 25, the total concentration of the component (a) and the component (b) is 2 to 7 mass% [however, the concentration of the component (a) is converted as the form of an amine and the concentration of the component (b) is converted in the form of an acid], the content of the component (b) in the composition is 2 mass% or less, and a pH value at 20°C is 9.0 or higher and 11.5 or lower.
