PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of high cost when an electric rotating range of a mirror assembly is changed in a conventional outside mirror device for a vehicle. SOLUTION: An electric rotating range restraining mechanism arranged in a gear case 11 comprises a clutch holder 35 of a rotary force transmission mechanism axially movably mounted to a shaft 10, a washer 38 fixed to the gear case 11, a regulating projection 42 formed at the clutch holder 35, and contact parts 43, 44 formed at the washer 38. The regulating projection 42 contacts with the contact parts 43, 44 to regulate the electric rotating range of the mirror assembly 2.
