PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant member for a weatherstrip with a strong force for holding a flange and capable of facilitating reassembling. SOLUTION: In this sealant member 70 used for the weatherstrip 10 sealing a gap between a body opening opening/closing member of an automobile and the body opening peripheral edge of the automobile, the weatherstrip 10 is configured to comprise a mounting base 20 of a generally U-shaped cross section or a generally J-shaped cross section attached to a flange 7, and a seal part 30 which is integrally attached to the mounting base and seals the gap between the body opening opening/closing member and the body opening peripheral edge. The sealant member 70 for the weatherstrip characterized by being formed of an adhesive including a synthetic resin-based or rubber-based base material with a glass transition point of -10°C or below and a rust-preventive agent, and is mounted on the internal face of the mounting base of the generally U-shaped cross section or the generally J-shaped cross section of the weatherstrip.
