PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically apply keywords achieving multifaceted and highly accurate retrieval, in registering content of an image or the like in a database. SOLUTION: A tag generation part 23 analyzes an image file input from an image input part 22, and extracts such features as feature colors, time information and position information. A word table 30 records the various features and keywords showing those features in association with each other, and a keyword selection part 31 retrieves the word table 30 based on the extracted features, and selects the pertinent keywords. A related word acquisition part 25 retrieves the related words of the keywords by retrieving a thesaurus 24, and a score acquisition part 26 acquires scores showing the relevancy between the keywords and the related words.
