<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner which has a short compact width and a short depth, and places CISs on both sides of reading paper to simultaneously read images on its two sides. <P>SOLUTION: Using first and second reading units which have light sources at one-side edges and are placed with reading element arrays in the direction of a reading width, the scanner simultaneously scans two sides of the reading paper. The scanner is composed of the first and second reading units having the light sources placed at one-side edges in the width direction of the reading paper, a paper feeder which feeds the reading papers and an output part which outputs first and/or second reading signals from the first and/or the second reading unit. An image acquired from the first or the second reading signals which are outputted from the output part is reversed by 180 degrees, so that images of two sides can be displayed on a display device as positive images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
