The invention relates to a cooling apparatus (2) for cooling an electrical device (12). The problem addressed by the invention is that of providing a cooling apparatus (2) by means of which the permissible temperature range of standard components can be expanded and/or a higher maximum and/or continuous power can be achieved without any or much design complexity on the actual electrical device (12). This problem is solved in that the cooling apparatus (2) has a fastening apparatus (8) for mounting on a fastening system (10) and is designed to cool the electrical device (12). Furthermore, the fastening apparatus (8) of the cooling apparatus (2) is designed for mounting on a top-hat rail, G-type rail, mounting rail, or profiled rail, or on an equivalent system and the cooling apparatus (2) has a contact apparatus for looping an energy supply and/or a data connection through from and/or to the electrical device (12).
