PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely travel a meal service vehicle by providing a heating and cooling compartment with a side open part for storing multiple food supply trays in a vehicle body and providing a forward recognizing means in a rear exterior panel which constitutes the rear surface part of the vehicle body. SOLUTION: The heating and cooling compartment 3 is formed in a box shape by a metallic material such as stainless steel, where the both side surfaces of the vehicle body 1 are made to be opening parts 4 and the exterior panel 5 being a plastic molding is externally mounted on the outer surface of the compartment 3. The exterior panel 5 is formed by a front exterior panel 5a for constituting the front surface part of the vehicle body 1, a rear exterior panel 5b for constituting a rear surface part and an upper exterior panel 5c for constituting a roof part, and a camera being the recognizing means is disposed in the upper part of the rear exterior panel 5b. Then, it is recognized whether or not an obstacle exists and whether or not the vehicle comes close to the wall surface of a building, an equipment, a machine or the like when the meal service vehicle travels backward, and the image is displayed on a monitor 22a.
