PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type massage machine allowing a user to receive massage in a relaxed state with a footrest raised and to stay on feet when stepping down from the footrest. SOLUTION: A heel receiving face 23 of the footrest 4 for receiving a heel is higher than a toe receiving face 24 for receiving a toe, and the part between the heel receiving face and the toe receiving face is a slope 25. The slope 25 makes the angle A approximately from 100 degrees to 130 degrees to a calf receiving face 18 of the footrest. As a result, the toes are not rolled back even when the footrest is brought up, so that the user can be relaxed, and further, the user can stay on feet with the heel receiving face and the toe receiving face when he/she steps down from the footrest.
