PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of preventing the whole leakage from the leg circumferences such as climbing-over leakage and oozing leakage. SOLUTION: An absorbent body and side end part use face sides are fixed to base end parts, boundaries between the fixed parts and non-fixed erecting parts become proximal edges, and the proximal edges have erecting gathers positioned on the top sheet. The side edge of the top sheet is positioned closer to a central side than the side edge of the back sheet; the erecting gather has a laminated layer structure formed by stacking a lower-side erecting sheet, a liquid impermeable layer and an upper-side erecting sheet in this order; the base end parts of the lower-side erecting sheet and the liquid impermeable layer extend over the side edge of the top sheet onto the back sheet; the base end part of the upper-side erecting sheet extends over the base edge of the lower-side erecting sheet onto the back sheet, and the based end part of the erecting gather is fixed to the absorbent body by a hot-melt adhesive layer continuing from the proximal edge to the part on the back sheet of the upper-side erecting sheet.
