PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid treatment method and a microorganism optimizing method capable of (1) treating a liquid with an optimum microorganism and (2) swiftly dealing with a change in the liquid.SOLUTION: A liquid treatment method includes a step for treatment in a biological treatment tank housing a microorganism, and a microorganism optimizing step for optimization of the microorganism to be used in the biological treatment tank. The microorganism optimizing step includes a liquid collecting step for collecting a liquid containing a stock solution discharged from a liquid treatment system, a screening step for screening an optimum microorganism suitable for treatment in the biological treatment tank, using the liquid containing a stock solution as a culture substrate, a cultivation step for cultivating the screened optimum microorganism, and a supply step for supplying the cultivated optimum microorganism to the biological treatment tank.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
