It is known to use a thin-walled steel casting as a body component for a supporting frame structure of a self-supporting automotive body. The problem addressed by the invention is that of providing an automotive body which is characterized by great rigidity and a low weight. According to the invention, an automotive body has a steel cast component. This steel cast component comprises a flat, thin-walled basic body (5) and an in particular annular sprue (8, 14). Furthermore, there is at least one rib, preferably a plurality of ribs (7, 16, 17a, 17b) which extend along the flat basic body (5) from the region of the sprue (6, 14). The flat basic body (5) will not only extend here in a plane, but will have a three-dimensional shape, for example with curvatures.
