A bearing assembly for a turbocharger is provided of which a pair of ball bearings supporting a turbine shaft are less likely to heat up and become worn abnormally when the turbine shaft is vibrated. The bearing assembly (1) for a turbocharger includes a turbine wheel-side ball bearing (7) disposed at one axial end of a tubular body (5), a compressor impeller-side ball bearing (8) disposed at the other axial end of the tubular body (5), and a bearing housing (6). The bearing housing (6) includes an opposed wall (31) opposed to the axially outer side of the outer race (10) of the turbine wheel-side ball bearing (7), and an opposed wall (32) opposed to the axially outer side of the outer race (10) of the compressor impeller-side ball bearing (8). The outer race (10) of the turbine wheel-side ball bearing (7) and the outer race (10) of the compressor impeller-side ball bearing (8) have axially outer end surfaces (10a) which are axially outwardly displaced from the respective axial end surfaces (5a) of the tubular body (5) so that oil films (f 2 ) form between the respective outer races (10) and the corresponding opposed walls (31 and 32).
