PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kerosene composition that has good combustion quality, gives clean exhaust gas, in which particularly unburned hydrocarbon and sulfur oxide in the exhaust gas is reduced and the smell of the exhaust gas is improved. SOLUTION: The kerosene composition satisfies following properties: (1) the range from IBP (initial boiling point) to FBP (final boiling point) of from 140 to 300°C according to the distillation testing method under the normal pressure prescribed in JIS K2254; (2) a density of 0.81 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or less; (3) an aromatic hydrocarbon content of 0 to 20 vol%; (4) a sulfur content originating from benzothiophenes and dibenzothiophenes of from 0 to 50 mass ppm; and (5) a fraction higher than 250°C of from 0 to 20 vol%.
