PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for suppressing slime, capable of effectively and simply treating visually unpleasant slime generated by proliferation of bacteria or fungi, and to provide a method for suppressing slime. SOLUTION: The composition for suppressing slime suppresses generation of slime including at least one selected from Rhodotorula, Methylobacterium and Microbacterium, and contains a slime suppressing component having≥2 antibacterial activity value. The slime suppressing component is one suppressing slime exhibiting red and/or pink. The slime suppressing composition preferably contains a cationic substance. The method for suppressing slime comprises applying the slime suppressing composition on an objective surface before appearing the slime containing at least one selected from Rhodotorula, Methylobacterium and Microbacterium.
