A driver system for an electroluminescent lamp and a method for performing the same are provided to increase up time and down time of voltage by limiting current which passes through a switching transistor while voltage of both stages of the EL(Electro-Luminescent) lamp is increased or decreased, thereby reducing audio noise in the EL lamp. A driver system for an electroluminescent lamp comprises the following parts: an H-bridge having an alternate switching transistor(32,33,34,35) including a first high side transistor, a second high side transistor, a first low side transistor, and a second low side transistor; and a H-bridge sequencer(31) for generating a control signal for controlling conduction of the first lower side transistor and the second low side transistor and switching a transistor for generating AC(Alternating Current) of both stages of the EL lamp in an arbitrary frequency.
