PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device enabling to easily obtain a structure with a spacer end part arranged on a groove part of wiring of a cathode substrate without conducting groove processing on the wiring, and capable of exerting a reduction effect of an electron beam deflection amount. SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with the cathode substrate having a cold cathode element, a signal line, and a scanning line formed thereon, an anode substrate with a phosphor and a black matrix formed thereon, and a spacer arranged between the scanning line of the cathode substrate and the black matrix of the anode substrate for supporting both of the substrates. The scanning line is formed of glass containing at least metallic particles and vanadium oxide, and a cathode side end part of the spacer is bitten into the scanning line.
