PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray tube irradiating electron beams from respectively separate cathodes on a plurality of regions on an anticathode, in which wavelength of the X-rays and focus dimensions can be switched easily over and the distance between the centers of the plurality of regions can be made small, enabling to make the X-ray tube not so large. SOLUTION: The rotating anticathode 10 is provided with a first region 16 and a second region 18 having different materials. An electron gun assembly 12 has a first electron gun 22 and a second electron gun 24. When the electron gun assembly 12 is rotated, a posture (first posture ) in which a first cathode 28 of the first electron gun 22 faces the first region 16 and a posture (second posture) in which a second cathode 34 of the second electron gun 24 faces the second region 18 can be switched over. When it is in the first posture, electron beams are irradiated from the first cathode 28 and X-rays are generated from the first region 16, and when it is in the second posture, X-rays are generated from the second region 18.
