PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio/video reproducing device and an audio/video system in which reproduction output can be performed without break from a continuation position of the previous time of the data when reproduction of data is restarted after interruption of a power source or the like. SOLUTION: An audio/video reproducing device 10 provided with a function for receiving audio/video data from external equipment 20 and reproduction-outputting, is provided with buffer means 12a, 12b outputting successively the data while accumulating successively the data when audio/video data are received and reproduction-output, and a control means 11 controlling input/output of the data for this buffer means. Then, information indicating residual quantity of data which is received from the external equipment 20, accumulated in the buffer means 12a, 12b, and not yet output is informed to the external equipment 20.
