PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition that exhibits excellent pressure-sensitive adhesive properties after crosslinking treatment, does not cause lifting or separation upon heat treatment or treatment under high-humidity conditions and has excellent durability, and also to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and its production method. SOLUTION: The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprises: (A) a (meth)acrylic polymer including 50-98 wt.% of a (meth)acrylic monomer represented by general formula, CH<SB>2</SB>=C(R<SP>1</SP>)COOR<SP>2</SP>, and 0.1-20 wt.% monomer containing a carboxylic group, as monomer units; and (B) a (meth)acrylic polymer including 50-98 wt.% (meth)acrylic monomer represented by general formula, CH<SB>2</SB>=C(R<SP>3</SP>)COOR<SP>4</SP>, and 0.1-20 wt.% monomer containing nitrogen, as monomer units; wherein the weight ratio of (A) to (B) is 10:90-90:10, and, the pressure sensitive adhesive composition includes 0.02-2 pts.wt. peroxide and 0.02-2 pts.wt. isocyanate-based crosslinking agent for 100 pts.wt. of the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition.
