PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device that enable a reception device to reproduce plural second data units stored in a first data unit at an intended time even when the leap second adjustment is performed on reference time information serving as the reference of a reference clock of the transmission side and the reception device.SOLUTION: A transmission method for transmitting a first data unit in which data constituting an encoded stream is stored, the first data unit stores a plurality of second data units.
