<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical trunk structure for power wiring and a laying method for a vertical trunk, in which the vertical trunk can be installed easily and economically by a small number of workers, without damaging insulation properties and safety. <P>SOLUTION: A vertical cable 13 is divided into units 15a, 15 for every several floors to ten-odd floors, and the upper end of the top-most unit 15a is hoisted and supported with the ceiling slab on the top-most floor, allowing the portion slightly lower than the upper end of the other unit 15 to be hoisted and supported with the ceiling slab on the corresponding floor. The lower end of the above unit 15 is joined by molding to the upper end of the below unit 15 with a joint 18.
