<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a light emitting diode causing no luminance deterioration resulting from deterioration of an aggregate of fiber carrying a phosphor, since the aggregate of fiber carrying the phosphor can be prevented from being deteriorated by shorter wavelength light emitted from an LED chip while having large energy. <P>SOLUTION: In this light emitting diode 10, the LED chip 14 is connected and fixed on a substrate 12 made of an insulating material, one electrode of the LED chip 14 is connected to one external electrode 16a, the other electrode of the LED chip 14 is connected to the other external electrode 16b, the LED chip 14 is covered with a cap-shaped nonwoven fabric 22, the surface of fiber 24 composing the nonwoven fabric 22 and consisting of glass used as an inorganic material is made to carry a phosphor 20, the LED chip 14 and the nonwoven fabric 22 are surrounded by a frame member 28, and the LED chip 14 is sealed by a translucent lid member 30 formed by filling a translucent material in the frame member 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
