PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which performs good printing regardless of a clearance between a nozzle and a recording medium, and to provide a printing method.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a transportation mechanism part 12 which transports a workpiece W; a print mechanism part 13 having a group composed of a number of nozzles 6 which discharge an ink to the workpiece W as droplets to make prints; and a control part 15 which controls operation of the transportation mechanism part 12 and the print mechanism part 13. Further, the print mechanism part 13 has: a first nozzle array configured to form a first printing region; a second nozzle array configured to form a second printing region; and an overlapping part configured to form a third printing region and in which the first nozzle array and the second nozzle array are overlapped. The control part 15 prohibits overlapping of the first printing region and the second printing region in the workpiece W when the third printing region is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
