PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic probe in which a plurality of ultrasonic transducers can be arranged with a narrow arrangement interval.SOLUTION: A probe 102 for photoacoustic wave comprises a plurality of chips 140 provided with a plurality of electrostatic capacitance type ultrasonic transducers 103, and flexible wiring 504 which connects the transducers in the chips and a detection circuit. The chips have the polygonal shape and form a recessed part which is constituted by polyhedra obtained by combining the polygonal chips. The flexible wiring has a wiring region which is drawn in the direction substantially vertical to the surface where the plurality of transducers are provided in the chip.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
