When an edge device (UPE) close to a service provider network at user side receives a message from network side, performing an operation of not learning MAC information of message at network side in a VPLS MAC table on UPE. When UPE receives a message from user side, performing an operation of learning MAC information of message at user side in VPLS MAC table on UPE, wherein side of UPE connected to a network device is network side, and side of UPE connected to a user device is user side.
