PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device which can change a closing speed of a lid body in response to a request of a user.SOLUTION: An opening and closing device is provided with: a main body; a lid body which is pivotally supported by the main body and can rotate between a close position and an open position; and a damper mechanism 8 arranged between the main body and the lid body. The damper mechanism 8 includes: a housing cylindrical body 5 arranged on the main body; a cylinder 4 which is fitted to the housing cylindrical body 5 and is filled with air; and a piston 3 which slides in the cylinder 4 with friction according to rotation of the lid body. An area of a part, which a first opening 40 on a side surface of the cylinder 4 and a second opening 50 on a side surface of the housing cylindrical body 5 overlap with each other, is larger in a second state, in which a load more than its own weight is applied on the lid body, air pressure compressed by the piston 3 is applied, and the cylinder 4 is positioned inward in an axial direction than a first state with respect to the housing cylindrical body 5, than in a first state, in which the lid body descends by its own weight and the cylinder 4 is positioned outward in the axial direction with respect to the housing cylindrical body 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
