A cofferdam covering (10) consists of a flexible, elastic material, eg; an elastic thermoplastic. The material has an absorbing surface, and the surface structure (14) has numerous depressions (16). The depressions are 0.1-0.5, esp 0.2-0.4 mm in size, and are 0.05-0.3 mm apart. The material consists of at least two layers of different material, and one layer consists of silicone or PTFE.
