PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is a waste of electric power supplied to a fixing device during small-quantity image formation wherein a temperature fall is small. SOLUTION: In the fixing device which has a fixing member 3 heating toner on a recording medium to fix it, a heating means 6 of heating the fixing member 3 or making it generate heat, and a control means of controlling power supply to the heating means 6 and is used for an image forming apparatus forming a toner image on the recording medium, the control means makes the power supply to the heating means 6 during image formation by the image forming apparatus more when the number of images successively formed by the image forming apparatus is not less than a first fixed number than when the number of images successively formed by the image forming apparatus is less than the first fixed number.
