PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reproducibility of low-gradation display in an image display device using an oil layer. SOLUTION: The image display device comprises: a first insulating layer; a second insulating layer; a first oil layer disposed between the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer and close to the first insulating layer; a second oil layer disposed between the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer and close to the second insulating layer; and a first electrode disposed outside the first insulating layer; and a second electrode disposed outside the second insulating layer.
