PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular air conditioner and its control method capable of effectively performing air-conditioning in a driving room even when a window or a door of the driving room is opened. SOLUTION: The vehicular air conditioner (1) has heating means (6, 8) for heating an upper body of a driver; opening/closing sensors (57, 58) for detecting opening/closing of the driving room; and a control part (60) setting heating ability of the heating means (6, 8) such that it becomes than the case where the driving room is closed when it is detected that the driving room is opened by the opening/closing sensors (57, 58).
