PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer film excellent in gas barrier property and gas barrier property in a humidified atmosphere, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The multilayer film comprises a filmy substrate, a gas barrier layer formed on at least one side of the substrate and a waterproof layer formed on the other side thereof. Preferably, the gas barrier layer comprises a polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of≥98 mol% and a polymerization degree of 300-3,300, and it is also preferable that the waterproof layer comprises at least one selected from polyvinylidene chloride alone and the mixtures of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer and polyurethane.
