<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the bacterial infection of a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) (called PEG hereinafter) catheter. <P>SOLUTION: An infection preventive cover 10E includes a sheath 1E and a breaking wire 53. The breaking wire 53 is attached or melted along the inner surface of the top end portion of the sheath 1E. When the top end portion of the PEG catheter 12 covered with the sheath 1E reaches the inside of the stomach of a patient, when the breaking wire 53 is pulled from the side of the mouth of the patient, the top end portion of the sheath 1E is broken. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
