An overlay welding device for carrying out overlay welding on outer peripheral surfaces of round pipe is provided with a rotational drive unit (10) for rotating a round pipe (101) around the axis thereof and a welding unit (20) for carrying out overlay welding on the outer peripheral surface of the rotating round pipe (101) while traveling along the axial direction of the round pipe (101). The welding unit (20) has a welding torch (23) for generating an arc between the outer peripheral surface of the round pipe and the welding torch and a welding material supply unit (25) for supplying welding material (103) to the weld location. The tip of the welding torch (23) is disposed so as to be positioned at an angle position moved forward a prescribed angle toward the reverse rotational direction, which is reverse of the direction of rotation of the round pipe (101), from the apex of the round pipe (101), and the welding torch (23) is inclined a prescribed angle to the rotational direction side of the round pipe (101) with respect to a reference line (P) passing through the central axis of the round pipe (101) and the tip of the welding torch (23) when viewed from the axial direction of the round pipe (101). Thus, a molten pool (104) can spread more easily. |
