PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing resin which is formed of a cross-linked body of γ-polyglutamic acid partially neutralized product and is excellent in a saturation absorption amount and an absorption amount under load.SOLUTION: A water-absorbing resin includes a cross-linked body in which γ-polyglutamic acid partially neutralized product is crosslinked with a polyvalent glycidyl compound. The γ-polyglutamic acid constituting the γ-polyglutamic acid partially neutralized product is γ-polyglutamic acid which is prepared by cultivation of Bacillus natto and has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000,000 to 30,000,000, and pH of the γ-polyglutamic acid partially neutralized product is 3.5-6.8.SELECTED DRAWING: None
