DISTORTION GENERATOR CIRCUIT, PRE-DISTORTION CIRCUIT, OPTICAL SIGNAL TRANSMITTER USING THE SAME, AND OPTICAL SIGNAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

A distortion generator circuit for generating substantially the same distortion as an FM batch converter circuit even when the FM batch converter circuit frequency modulates input electric signals over a wide frequency range. An optical signal transmitter exhibiting less distortion, an optical signal transmission system, and a pre-distortion circuit for compensating for the distortion of the FM batch converter circuit using the distortion generator circuit. The distortion generator circuit comprises a splitter circuit (21) for splitting an input electric signal into two electric signals; an FM batch converter circuit (12) for frequency modulating one of the two signals outputted from the splitter circuit; an FM demodulator circuit (92) for frequency demodulating an output from the FM batch converter circuit; amplitude/delay adjustment circuits (38,39) for adjusting the amplitude and delay of the other of the two signals outputted from the splitter circuit; and a combining circuit (37) for combining an output from the FM demodulator circuit with an output from the amplitude/delay adjustment circuits.
