PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short fiber, which is a split type conjugate fiber capable of being split by air-agitation, used for a non-woven fabric, capable of preventing the formation of fibrous aggregates caused by the generation of static electricity by the friction between the fiber-fiber or the fiber-machine in the production process of especially a dry type non-woven fabric, capable of obtaining a non-woven fabric having a high quality, such as excellent in uniformity, having a low air permeability, flexible and also excellent in mechanical characteristic, and a short fiber non-woven fabric containing the short fiber. SOLUTION: This split type conjugate fiber consisting of 2 components of a polyamide-based polymer A and a polyester-based polymer B assumes a form in which a multiple number of one polymers contact with the surrounding of the other polymer in the cross section cut perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the fiber, and having≥65% air agitation split rate, 1.0 to 30 mm fiber length and 0.5 to 20 dtex single fiber fineness.
