A dielectric insulating fluid composition for a transformer including a trimethylol propane ester corresponding to general formula I: where R¹, R², and R³ are the same or different and each represents a linear or branched alkyl group containing 5 to 11 carbon atoms, where an ester having a viscosity of <23 MM²/s at 40° C. and a fire point of >300° C. is provided.
