An Arabic and Iranian character input method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a user to input all of Arabic and Iranian characters more easily by using two types of special function keys on the basis of basic characters of each letter, thereby remarkably reducing the average frequency of characters typing. A number keypad unit(602) shows a configuration of a 3x4 key matrix. A memory unit(604) stores various operating programs of a mobile communication terminal, and combines inputted characters by predetermined steps. A display window(605) displays operated information. All of Arabic and Iranian characters are inputted by using the number keypad unit where basic character inputting number keys of Arabic and Iranian words, special function keys, and space bar keys are disposed together.
