<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an easily portable radio input device for inputting data for operation to electronic equipment within the range of normal movement and an equipment operation system using this radio input device. <P>SOLUTION: A pen type input device is provided with a mouse function input part 104, and capable to communicate operation result information such as movement amounts or moving directions as a pointing device to a portable telephone set 101 by short-range radio communication. Thus, it is possible to replace a portion of operation information input from an operation part 108 of compact electronic equipment such as a portable telephone set 108 with an external input device.
