PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ammonia production method which electrochemically synthesizes ammonia from hydrogen and nitrogen.SOLUTION: The ammonia production method of the present invention includes: preparing a cell which has a first chamber, a second chamber, and a diaphragm and in which the diaphragm comprises an ion exchange resin, a first electrode is disposed on the first chamber side of the diaphragm, a second electrode is disposed on the second chamber side of the diaphragm, a first catalyst is disposed in the first electrode, and the first catalyst comprises an oxide containing lanthanum; supplying nitrogen to the first chamber and supplying hydrogen to the second chamber; and making the potential of the first electrode more negative than that of the second electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
