Provided is an apparatus for identifying pipes or the like, by which a worker can promptly identify pipes that deal with various kinds of fluids. The present invention is provided with a plurality of slave units (2a, 2b, 2c) that are each attached to a pipe (101) or a measuring instrument (102) provided in the pipe (101) or a device. The slave units (2a, 2b, 2c) are communicable with each other, and each provided with a fixture that is attachable to and detachable from the pipe (101) or the measuring instrument (102), an ID indicator that indicates the ID of each of the slave units by a letter, a symbol, or a figure, and a human sense device (17, 18) that appeals to human five senses by being operated. The slave units are sequentially arranged and attached to the pipe (101) or the measuring instrument (102) along each pipeline. Each of the slave units is provided with a memory (16) that is able to store the ID of one slave unit adjacent at least on the upstream or downstream side, and provided with a slave unit controller that operates the human sense device (17, 18) thereof by detecting the operation of the one slave unit adjacent thereto by communication. |
