PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which allows a user to grasp that a sheet for confidential document and a sheet not for confidential document are conveyed in the overlapped state.SOLUTION: A conveyance unit 22 takes a sheet out from a storage unit 21 to convey it. A first detection unit 26 detects that the plurality of sheets are conveyed in the overlapped state by the conveyance unit 22. A second detection unit 27 detects the sheet which is conveyed by the conveyance unit 22 and has a specific electromagnetic characteristic. A control unit 11, when the number of sheets conveyed in the overlapped state detected by the first detection unit 26 is different from the number of sheets having the specific electromagnetic characteristic detected by the second detection unit 27, performs control for executing predetermined processing different from processing performed in a case where the number of sheets conveyed by the conveyance unit 22 matches the number of sheets having the specific electromagnetic characteristic.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
