PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding method and a winding machine by which a winding time is shortened by making a rotating speed higher, and production efficiency is better. SOLUTION: The winding machine includes a spindle shaft 2 which rotates centering on the shaft, a pair of winding jigs 6, 11 which support split cores 7a, 7b respectively around which a wire rod is wound, and rotate integrally with a spindle, moving means 11d, 30b in an axial direction which slide at least one of a pair of the winding jigs 6, 11 in the axial direction of the spindle shaft 2, a positioning means 12 in the axial direction which positions a relative position of a pair of the winding jigs 6, 11 which slide by the moving means in the axial direction, moving means 6d, 30a in an axial orthogonal direction which slide at least one of the winding jigs 6, 11 in the orthogonal direction of the spindle shaft 2, and positioning means 31, 34, 35 in the axial orthogonal direction which position the relative position of a pair of winding jigs 6, 11 which slide by the moving means in the axial orthogonal direction. A wire rod guide 23 which guides the wire rod completed in winding around one split core to the other split core is installed on either of a pair of the winding jigs 6, 11.
