A booster type gas compressor is provided to prevent different load from being applied to components by reducing difference of pressure between an upper part and a lower part. A booster type gas compressor comprises compressed gas flow passage(34), a cylinder(21), a piston, a piston rod(32), a crank shaft(29), a drive shaft(30), a crank case(29) and a bypass conduit(13). The cylinder is injected with compressed gas from the compressed gas flow passage. The piston moves in the cylinder up and down, and further compresses the compressed gas in the cylinder. The piston rod is connected to the piston in an upper end. The crank shaft is connected to a lower end of the piston rod. The drive shaft is connected to the crank shaft, rotates with the crank shaft, and moves the piston up and down. The crank case includes the crank shaft below the piston. The bypass conduit connects the compressed gas flow passage to the crank case.
