A method for controlling conversion from an external air mode to an internal air mode in an air conditioner of a car is provided to realize more comfortable car indoor environment by reducing drive noise generated when the air conditioner is converted from the external air mode to the internal air mode. A method for controlling conversion from an external air mode to an internal air mode in an air conditioner for a car includes the steps of checking if an automatic air-conditioning control mode is selected(S130), when the car is started(S110), and the air conditioner is initialized(S120), performing the automatic air-conditioning control mode according to a harmful sense signal(S140), when the automatic air-conditioning control mode is selected, checking if the external air mode is converted to the internal air mode through performance of the automatic air-conditioning control mode(S150), performing compensation control for noise reduction according to drive of a blow unit when the external air mode is converted to the internal air mode(S160), checking if the internal air mode is converted to the external air mode through performance of the automatic air-conditioning control mode(S170), and canceling the compensation control for the noise reduction(S180), and returning a step checking if the external air mode is converted to the internal air mode, when the internal air mode is converted to the external air mode.
