SECURITY SYSTEM FOR COMMUNITY COMPUTING AND METHOD THEREOF

A system and a method for keeping security of community computing are provided to apply a different security policy to each member belonging to a community in a ubiquitous environment according to computing ability of a computing device of each member. A community manager(210) defines a type of a security service required for each member belonging to the community. The first community framework(220) requests an encryption algorithm list available to an application(250) by responding to the security type of the member received from the community manager, selects an algorithm suitable for the security service type from the list, and requests an encryption key corresponding to the selected algorithm. The second community framework(230) outputs the list, receives the selected algorithm, requests the encryption key suitable for the security service type, and combines with the application mapped to the security service type in response to the encryption key. A key distribution server(240) transmits the encryption key to the frameworks in response to an encryption key request.
