Control system with multiple memory modules

A control system comprising a plurality of control modules A-F in electronic communication is described. The control modules are programmable to implement a specific control function for the system and are each provided with a memory unit for storing data for implementing the control function. The system further comprises a repository memory unit R for storing said data for implementing the control functions of the separate control modules, where data can be recorded to the repository memory R from the individual control modules. If one of the modules is replaced, the control settings can be downloaded from the repository memory to ensure the new module functions in the required manner. The system may be implemented on a powered wheelchair.
